Mexico City doesn't need another food blog full of adjectives and polished photos. I am John Chávez. I was born and raised here, and I have spent years watching travelers get stuck in the same three neighborhoods eating "authentic" food that no local would ever pay for.
This space is for the reality of the streets. It is about the crowd of locals eating on plastic stools and the rush of people standing around a taquería near a busy Metro station. Instead of showing you the typical "best of" lists, I want to give you the context you need to explore this place with confidence.
My goal is to help you understand why we eat what we eat. I want you to find the spots that don’t have a marketing budget or a host at the door. If you decide to join us for a tour, we will have a great time. But if you just use this information to navigate the city and avoid the tourist traps on your own, I’ve done my job.
The food is out there. You just need to know how to find it.
